Dicta and Iluy (formerly Mekorotai)
Dicta, the Israeli nonprofit behind free Hebrew text tools, demoed a Chabad Torah AI at the Kinus in November 2025. By October 2026 the old Mekorotai link opens Iluy, with a Chabad library option. Plus the Nakdan for nekudos.

Dicta is an Israeli nonprofit that builds computer tools for Hebrew, especially Torah texts, and offers them free. It is led by Prof. Moshe Koppel, a longtime member of Bar-Ilan University's computer science department. According to the group's recaps, Prof. Koppel spoke at the Kinus Hashluchim AI Day in November 2025, where a Chabad version of Dicta's Torah AI was shown.
Iluy, the current Torah AI
The Chabad link shown at the Kinus, chabad.mekorotai.dicta.org.il, now forwards to chabad.iluy.dicta.org.il. The general address rav.dicta.org.il now forwards to Dicta's main Iluy site. What ChabadLabs saw on October 21, 2026:
- A Hebrew interface that asks, "יש לכם שאלה לעילוי?" (Do you have a question for Iluy?)
- A library setting set to "ספריית חב״ד" (the Chabad library) and an answer-style setting set to "חסידות (מתקדם)" (Chassidus, advanced).
- A section of published Iluy questions and answers, and a "how it works" link.
- The question box was open without signing in.
A September 2026 review of AI tools for Talmud research reported that Dicta "explicitly states that Iluy is not a substitute for a rabbi or a halakhic ruling." Treat it as a study and source-finding tool.
No member had posted a test of the Chabad version by October 21, 2026. If you try it, check every source it gives, and post what you find in the group so others learn from it.
How it got here
- November 2025: Demoed at the Kinus AI Day. The pitch was a Torah AI that answers only from sources it can find and says so when it cannot. Members heard release would come "this year."
- February 2026: Asked whether the Chabad link worked, a member answered, "Nah." The group's practical substitute became NotebookLM loaded with the Rebbe's Torah.
- August 2026: A member said Dicta was still "working on one" when the group listed Torah AI options.
- October 2026: The Chabad link opens Iluy.
The Nakdan: nekudos for Hebrew text
Dicta's Nakdan adds nekudos to Hebrew text automatically. A member recommended it in July 2026. It is useful for reading sheets, and before you paste Hebrew into a text-to-speech tool: members found in October 2026 that narration pronounces Hebrew much better once the words carry nekudos. Check the result on names and Chassidic terms, where automatic nekudos can be wrong.
