On this page
A voice-to-text keyboard replacement with pre-saved templates. The chat's favorite dictation tool by Q2 2026.
What it is
wisprflow.ai installs as a system keyboard or hotkey. Speak, and get formatted text in any app. Pre-saved snippets expand into longer templates.
A free tier exists, with paid plans for heavy use. Referral link: wisprflow.ai/r?MEIR42. Android waitlist: wisprflow.ai/waitlist?MEIR42. As of the chat window, Android availability was listed as a waitlist; check wisprflow.ai for current platform support.
What the chat uses it for
- Talk-to-text for letters and emails: "WisperFlow recommended for talk-to-text."
- Pre-written templates (snippets): "You can have pre-written templates."
- Dictating notes and voice memos to expand later.
How it differs from ChatGPT voice mode
ChatGPT voice mode transcribes and then chats with the model. Wispr Flow transcribes, auto-formats, and pastes into any app (WhatsApp, Gmail, Google Docs, your CRM), with no model-driven Q&A.
Strengths
- Side-button activation on the phone.
- Fast, accurate formatting.
- Snippets enable repeated workflows.
Weaknesses
- Android arrived later than iOS.
- Using it inside WhatsApp is not obvious; it works as a keyboard, but the UX confused at least one member.
Alternatives
- Typeless, free tier, "haven't come close to word limit." (
typeless.com) - Letterly, "rave reviews on accuracy."
- Google Recorder / Pinpoint, free transcription on Android.
- ChatGPT voice mode, for AI conversation rather than text replacement.
