Kinus Hashluchim AI Day, November 2025

The pivotal community event of the chat's first season. The Kinus Hashluchim AI Day crystallized the group from a "WhatsApp curiosity channel" into an organized ecosystem with shared infrastructure, a shared vocabulary, and a much larger membership.

The event

• Where: Kinus Hashluchim, Brooklyn, November 13 to 14, 2025.
• Format: a full AI track, with a Thursday "AI Day" of workshops, product launches, and a panel of shluchim sharing success stories.
• Contributors: Chabad shluchim, AI practitioners, a Bar-Ilan professor presenting on rabbinic AI, and an AI consultant who ran one of the Kinus workshops.

What launched

• ShluchimExchange.ai, announced as a platform for shluchim to share effective AI prompts and workflows, with a beta signup. See the Toolbox.
• Dicta's Mekorotai, a purpose-built rabbinic AI backed by the Claude API and built by the Bar-Ilan team, demoed at the Kinus and promised for release "this year." See the Toolbox.
• Nano Banana 2, whose arrival coincided with Google's Gemini 3 Pro release on November 20, lit up the flyer conversation. It launched from Google rather than at the Kinus, but the timing reframed every image-generation discussion. See the Toolbox.

The membership surge

The group ballooned in the days around the event: reports of dozens joining within a single day, and more than a hundred join requests arriving within hours of the public AI Day announcement.

What people brought home

• A shared mental model. Regular recap posts began after the Kinus and became the cadence the group has run on since.
• A community platform. ShluchimExchange.ai started filling with agents, prompts, and remixable workflows.
• A vision for AI Torah accessibility. As one member later framed it:

"It's clearly a very important issue and a key to unblocking the next frontier in hafotzas hamaayanos. A 'Sefaria for chassidus.'"

Two half-joking lines from the event became the group's working outlook, that AI expands the value of human shluchim rather than replacing them:

"Everyone in the world is going to lose their jobs besides for shluchim."

"Torah AI will educate your mekuravim and make you באין ערוך more in demand."

Several threads opened at the Kinus that the chat kept chewing on afterward:

• When does Mekorotai actually ship? Months later it was still described as not reliably working, though promised repeatedly.
• JEM AI, promised "this year," with an unclear status through mid-2026.
