How do I turn a long shiur into short video clips?

There is no one button for this yet, but there is a stack the community has settled on. The trick is to let AI find the good moments from the transcript, then cut and caption with a normal editor.

1. 01Record the shiur cleanly. A phone, a Zoom or Riverside session, or a lapel mic all work.
2. 02Transcribe it. Sofer.ai handles a Hebrew, Yiddish, and English mix; Whisper or TurboScribe are fine for English.
3. 03Let AI pick the highlights. Paste the transcript into Claude or ChatGPT and ask for the strongest stand-alone moments with their timestamps.
4. 04Cut the clips in an editor. CapCut is free and quick; Descript lets you edit the video by editing its text.
5. 05Add captions. CapCut has them built in, and Captions.AI is the community pick when you need Hebrew subtitles.
6. 06Post one clip, not ten. A single strong clip a week beats a batch nobody finishes.

A prompt that works for step 3:

Here is a transcript of a class.
Find the 5 strongest 30 to 90 second sections that stand on their own.
For each, give the start and end timestamp, a short title, and a one line caption for social media.

The open problem is still B-roll: no tool reliably fills a talking-head clip with supporting footage yet, so keep clips simple for now.
