Where Do I Start With AI?

With AI moving so quickly, people easily get confused and stuck, often not knowing where to start. Conversations about agents, skills and advanced use-cases are unhelpful and overwhelming when you're still trying to understand the difference between ChatGPT and Claude (or wondering what Claude even is).

ChatGPT has a new place to work

OpenAI has introduced ChatGPT Work: an agent inside ChatGPT for work that normally takes a whole string of steps. It can gather context from the tools you choose to connect, email, calendar, Google Drive, Slack, project trackers, CRMs, and more, then create useful outputs such as documents, spreadsheets, slides, and simple web apps.

This is where connectors and plugins matter: they let ChatGPT reach the places where your work already happens. If the job needs a file from Drive, a calendar detail, an email thread, a web page, or another connected tool, ChatGPT Work can use that context while it works. It can break a larger assignment into smaller jobs, keep going for hours, and let you check progress, answer questions, redirect it, or approve an important action.

You can start a job on your phone and review it later on the web or desktop. On desktop, ChatGPT Work can use its built-in browser, local files, desktop apps, and Computer Use to take steps on your behalf. It can also handle Scheduled Tasks: a weekly agenda, a morning report of what changed, or a tracker that refreshes when new information comes in.

It's basically ChatGPT's version of Claude Cowork. Both are built to carry work forward rather than merely answer a prompt. ChatGPT Work brings connected plugins, browser use, scheduled tasks, computer use, and the ability to create shareable Sites such as project trackers or dashboards into one place.
