01 / Fresh from the Lab

Fresh from the Lab.

Welcome to the first issue of Chabad Labs Weekly.

There's a lot happening in AI every week. New tools, new models, new features, new warnings, new tricks. Some of it is useful. A lot of it is noise. All of it is overwhelming.

This newsletter has one job: to filter the noise into practical AI use-cases for shlichus.

Each week, we'll pull from the buzzing AI For Shlichus WhatsApp group, and the broader AI world, then distil it into something you can actually use in your Chabad house: a better workflow, a useful prompt, a tool worth trying, or an idea that can save you time.

03 / Top AI News & Trends

Top AI News & Trends.

AI is moving from "ask a question, get an answer" to building useful workflows and even "agents".

The tools are becoming better at remembering context, working through multi-step tasks, using files, helping with spreadsheets, browsing websites, and connecting to other apps.

In plain English: AI is starting to feel less like a clever chatbot and more like a real assistant that can tackle real tasks.

We explored what shluchim can and are doing with "AI agents" in a webinar we hosted that week.

04 / One Thing to Try

One Thing to Try.

Turn a meeting transcription into follow-up actions

Record your next meeting and paste the transcript into your AI model of choice. Ask it to extract the main points, todos, and follow ups.

There are dedicated tools for this such as Otter.ai, Fireflies.ai, Fathom.ai and many more.

If you have a specific style of meeting brief you'd like, turn it into a custom project to consistently get the same structure. Wondering what a custom project is? Read on.

05 / Tool of the Week

Tool of the Week.

ChatGPT Projects, Claude Projects, or Gemini custom Gems

If you run the same kind of task more than once, don't start from a blank chat every time.

Create a project for one repeated shlichus workflow, such as:

Put your standing instructions inside the project. Add the prompt once. Tell it your tone, your audience, what information it should always ask for, and what it should never assume.

For example, an Event Setup Project can remember:

Event Setup Project
Ask one question at a time
Do not write public copy until the missing details are collected
Keep the tone warm and practical
Separate the full event sheet from the short promotional copy
Always end with a checklist

That one setup can save a lot of back-and-forth.

Last webinar: Vibe Coding

If you've heard people talk about "vibe coding" and wondered what it means, this replay is a good place to start. The basic idea is simple: you describe what you want to build, and AI helps turn it into a working app or tool. It still needs judgment, testing, and patience, but it opens the door to many things that used to be out of reach.

Can AI replace my VA?

A webinar on AI Agents

AI agents are one of the most practical areas to understand right now. The question is not whether AI can replace every human task. The better question is which parts of a VA-style workflow can be prepared, organized, drafted, checked, or handed off safely.

More details coming soon.
