There is no single video tool that does everything, so it helps to pick by the job in front of you. Here is what the community reaches for.
To pull clips out of a shiur:
- 01Transcribe first with Sofer.ai or Whisper, then let Claude or ChatGPT pick the highlights.
- 02Cut in CapCut, which is free, or Descript, which lets you edit video by editing text.
- 03Caption with CapCut or Captions.AI, the pick for Hebrew subtitles.
To generate video when you have no footage of your own:
- 01Text-to-video models like Grok, Kling, Google Veo, and InVideo make short clips. Expect to generate several and keep the best.
- 02For a talking head without filming, HeyGen, Synthesia, and D-ID turn a script into a presenter.
- 03NotebookLM can turn your source documents into a narrated host-and-guest video.
For sound:
- 01Suno writes and produces a full song from your lyrics, good for a Purim or Chanukah theme song with your town's name in it.
- 02ElevenLabs is the community's pick for a human-sounding voiceover, and the leader for Hebrew pronunciation.
A note on prompting people into a scene: describe what they are wearing and doing, not their identity. "Women in modern modest dresses lighting candles at a Shabbat table" gives the model something concrete to render and keeps the picture honest to what you had in mind. Describing dress and setting, rather than labeling a group, is simply the clearer way to get the scene you actually want.
One caveat on staying current: these models change fast, and a tool that led last month may be gone or renamed. Sora, for example, was the workhorse in late 2025 and has since been discontinued. Check the living list before you commit: Video Editing Tools and Video Creation.
