Shluchim are going all in on Tab. Two things it does really well (among many):
Videos. Tab makes really excellent videos, and shluchim are making great ones with it: a highlight reel from the photo album of an event, a promo for a weekly class, a clip cut out of a YouTube video with subtitles added.
Calls. Tab can call on your behalf: shops, following up on orders, all different things. It can also get quotes, like calling around every fish store to find the best price on fish for the Kiddush.
It's not perfect. There's a small lag, so it's never going to sound fully natural, but it works for a lot of places.
Get Tab →The Chat and Work tabs in the ChatGPT desktop app are becoming one for some users. From December, Plus users will share one usage allowance between ChatGPT and Codex, so limits may hit sooner.
On the one hand, it brings more power, and you don't have to think about whether you need Chat or Work. On the other hand, it brings more limits. Until now, chat on ChatGPT was pretty much unlimited, and that was nice compared to Claude, where every chat counts toward your usage limit.
Our take. While we're sad to see the unlimited chat go, it's the direction the world is going. There's only so much computing power available, and companies can't afford to keep handing out usage. In other words, the days of AI usage given away for free are ending.
Carbon, Gemini's new model, is in the same league as the top models from Claude and ChatGPT in the benchmarks. It hasn't been released to the public yet though, so there's no way to know really how it does in real life.
Google also apparently has an even more powerful model lined up.
Our take. It's no surprise that Google is coming back strong. Gemini has been very behind this year, but it seems like these new models could be really strong.
It doesn't mean you should move to Gemini if you currently use Claude or ChatGPT though.
Before Tab calls anyone for you, have it call you. Ask it to call you with a few different voices, then pick the one you like best.
And watch this space tomorrow at 2:45 pm, when ChabadLabs launches its new tool.
Call me now and say a short hello in 3 to 5 different voices, one after the other, so I can pick the one you'll use when you call for me.
