The Chabad connector Chabad

Excuse me, are you Jewish?

Ask the Chabad Connector whatever you've always wanted to know about Judaism, Torah and Mitzvot.

It isn't quite a Rabbi, but it has some artificial wisdom in addition to intelligence.

Setup▚

Add the Chabad MCP to your AI

Copy the address, then follow the steps for your app.

https://mcp.chabadlabs.ai/

Sign-in is optional. You can skip it and use the connector as it is; a few tools ask for an account and say so.

In Claude

  1. In Claude, open Customize, then Connectors.
  2. Click "+ Add", then "Add custom connector".
  3. Name it Chabad and paste the address shown above.
  4. Click "Continue", then choose "Sign in when needed".
  5. When a feature needs an account, sign in and allow access.

In ChatGPT

The phone app cannot add a custom connector; OpenAI says custom connectors are web only, and in our test it does not appear in the phone app.

  1. In a browser on a computer, or in the phone's browser with the desktop site, open Settings, then Plugins.
  2. Select the plus button, then Add custom MCP server. You do not turn on developer mode first.
  3. Enter a name (Chabad) and, if you like, a description.
  4. Under Connection, paste https://mcp.chabadlabs.ai/chatgpt.
  5. For authentication, choose No authentication. This connector needs no sign-in at all.
  6. Tick "I understand and want to continue", select Create, then allow access when asked.

If ChatGPT shows a sign-in screen while you add it, you do not have to sign in: press back, exit or skip, start a new chat, and the connector is there.

If you also want the library later (sign-in), add the main address https://mcp.chabadlabs.ai/ instead, choose 'OAuth or no authentication', and press 'Use without an account' when ChatGPT asks; you can sign in later from inside a chat.

OpenAI offers this on the web for Business, Enterprise, and Edu, and for Pro when the connector only reads. On Business, only an admin or owner can add it. On Enterprise and Edu, an admin can allow selected people to add it, and only an admin or owner can publish it. Plus, Free, and Go are not named. On ChatGPT Plus a few accounts still show 'Add custom MCP server' under Plugins; most do not, and the Plugin Directory listing is the way in. The help page says there is no region limit. Until the Chabad connector is listed in ChatGPT's Plugin Directory (submitted, under OpenAI's review), ChatGPT reaches it only on those plans and on the web.

It does not appear in the phone app. On the website, install the plugin, start a new chat, type @, and choose it. It is also listed under Settings, then Plugins.

Don't see Plugins? On the website, open Settings, then Apps, then Create. On a Business workspace, an admin opens Workspace settings, then Apps, then Create.

Add the connector in Plugins, then ask.

Go to Plugins. Select Add, then Add custom MCP server. Name it Chabad. Paste the address under Connection. Choose OAuth. Sign-in can wait. Tick the risk note, then Create. Sign-in is optional. You can skip it. Ask: What time is candle lighting in Brooklyn this Friday? The connector answers in the chat.

A shliach asks, and the skills come back.

Type: I'm a shliach, what can you do for me. The skills come back.

In Muse

  1. Ask Muse to create a custom connector.
  2. Give it the address shown above.
  3. Follow the steps Muse shows.

In any other AI

Wherever your AI lets you add an MCP server or a custom connector, paste this address: https://mcp.chabadlabs.ai/ – that is the whole setup.

Then just ask

Once the connector is added, ask in your own words. Here are some places to start.
